Born in the Sacred Wetlands of Bihar

The journey of iMAKHANA — from centuries-old lotus ponds to your family's table as an unadulterated luxury superfood.

Centuries of Mithila Wisdom

Makhana (Euryale ferox), or fox nut, has flourished in the tranquil wetland ecosystems of North Bihar for generations. Known locally as the "Black Diamond" when harvested in its hard prickly shell, it requires extraordinary human skill, endurance, and cultural knowledge to nurture and harvest.

At Raggers Private Limited, we founded iMAKHANA to celebrate this ancient agricultural heritage while elevating it to international food quality benchmarks. We bridge the gap between traditional harvester communities and wellness-conscious urban homes.

The Art of the Pop

Every delicate pearl of iMAKHANA undergoes a meticulous 4-step transformation.

01

Wetland Diving

Skilled local harvesters dive into clean freshwater ponds using traditional bamboo sieves (Ganj) to gather bottom-dwelling seeds without disturbing the natural ecosystem.

02

Sun Curing

Raw seeds are washed repeatedly and spread under the golden tropical sun for natural moisture equilibration over several days, preserving biological enzyme vitality.

03

Roast & Pop

Graded seeds are quickly heated over wood-fired earthen pans and struck with wooden mallets. In a split second, the seed pops open into an airy, cloud-white pearl.

04

High Grade Sorting

Our multi-screen sorting eliminates residual husk fragments and creates our signature High Grade pearls for supreme culinary versatility.
